LAUNCHED TODAY: Amazon Fires Back at Temu with Amazon Haul Marketplace - Prices as Low as $1, Delivery Times 1-2 Weeks
Short Takes
Today, Amazon launched Haul, a new feature within the Amazon Shopping app, as a direct response to Temu
In August, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said average selling prices were falling, as customers were trading down to cheaper items and buying more essential goods.
As a response to these trends, and, presumably, as a counter to the impacts from Temu, Amazon is launching Haul.
Currently in beta in the U.S., and available to some customers, Haul products boast prices that are predominantly under $20, with many items available for under $10, and some being offered for as little as $1.
Shipping times for Haul items will be slightly longer than normal, with estimated delivery times of 1-2 weeks.
Haul will offer an ultra-low priced, curated selection of products spanning fashion, home, lifestyle, electronics, and novelties.
Haul will offer low prices, extra savings on bigger bundles, and free delivery on orders over $25.
Examples include $2 iPhone 16 cases and $3 trimmer/razor sets.
Amazon Haul will have its own shopping experience and customers will enjoy even more savings when they add more items to a single order [SMART!].
Orders over $25 will ship for free, with a nominal shipping charge for orders less than $25. Haul items will come backed by Amazon's A-to-z Guarantee. Also smart.
Temu is heavily gamified, we will see to what extent Amazon tries to match that experience (if they do at all).
Amazon stock is up 2.5% today.
